                                                                    Good Communicator

            Growing up, I was taught to be respectful of others’ opinions. In order to do this, I had to be a good listener. I believe that I am a great listener and I keep an open mind when hearing other people speak.

            Additionally, I pay attention and focus very well. After being lectured several times throughout my years of school, it has become automatic to not only listen, but to actually hear and understand what the speaker is trying to get across.

I enjoy staying up to date with the world and knowing about current issues as well. This is another interest that I believe developed from previous years of schooling due to the fact that we would write a paragraph once a week on a current story in the news. 

            

                                                           Ajay's Photo Essay-Analysis

                                                                         

1.      Yes. I think these pages are understandable without Ajay’s help. The questions are simple like he planned and the photos show an example of what the questions are asking.

2.      His opening page does prepare the audience for his purpose because it gets you thinking about the similarities between buying and learning. The photograph and title are appropriate because Ajay is trying to get the audience to think differently about how we earn our education and the opening page sort of displays how we basically buy our education.

3.      On the first page he did a good job cropping the photo to where only an exchange of money can be seen. I think the next photos could have been framed better or cropped to focus in more on his intended purpose of the photos.

4.      Ajay’s captions are definitely doing the work he wanted them to as he described in his design plan. They are simple and they make you think.

5.      They would not have worked very well if the questions were statements or assertions. It would seem too assertive if he was telling us that how we get our gum is how we get our grade. It does not sound right. I don’t think the photos could work without captions. It would seem like two random pictures next to each other with an unknown relationship. It is also hard to tell that she is buying gum.

6.      I don’t think I would necessarily change any of the photographs but I would retake the same ones from different angles or perspectives to get a clearer idea across of what is occurring.

7.      I think he does include enough photos to achieve the purpose he described in his design plan. After looking at all three sets of photos with their captions, it is clear what Ajay is trying to get the audience to think about.

8.      Ajay did a decent job achieving the overall purpose he set for himself. I think he could have made some improvements on some of the photos but overall it is was not too bad.
